Our documentary will premiere at the infamous Vooruit in Ghent (Belgium) on October 14, and we have – a limited amount of – tickets for you! Set your alarms tomorrow at 7am!
“Kunst!”
This year marks the 25th anniversary of one of Belgium’s most iconic dance labels. It’s hard to overstate the importance this local powerhouse had on ravers and dance floors worldwide. Multiple generations of fans have grown up with these timeless classics that span from trance to progressive, or the sturdier electronic genres. From bringing out the first record to ultimately becoming a global force with around a dozen sub-labels and hundreds of releases to date, Bonzai have engraved themselves in the definitive history of dance music.
To mark this special occasion that is a quarter century of Bonzai, Red Bull Elektropedia has teamed up with the guys behind this legendary institution to bring us something quite different. First of all, seven carefully selected contemporary musicians have reworked their favourite track from the complete back catalogue of the record label. Check the links to hear the new interpretations by Charlotte de Witte, STUFF., Lefto, B, Hiele, Asa Moto and Sue Avenue. They are all forces to be reckoned with in their own subcultures, but are united in their love for Bonzai. The result, of course, is an unpredicted clash between nostalgic rave and contemporary ideas. Whichever kind of music you like, there’s going to be something in there for everyone.
On Monday, September 18, we will reveal seven reworks of some of our classics and less known tracks. Here is a little taste of what is to come: Blue Alphabet – Cybertrance vs Cherrymoon Trax – The House of House (STUFF. Rework).
We’re looking for the ultimate Bonzai Records fans with some great stories. It doesn’t matter if you’re a veteran or newbie.
Yes, you read it right: you can get featured in our documentary on Belgium’s most legendary label, which will be released October 2017.
